چکیده

In the framework of perturbative quantum field theory a new, universal renormalization condition (called Master Ward Identity) was recently proposed by one of us (M.D.) in a joint paper with F.-M. Boas. The main aim of the present paper is to get a better understanding of the Master Ward Identity by analyzing its meaning in classical field theory. It turns out that it is the most general identity for classical local fields which follows from the field equations. It is equivalent to a generalization of the Schwinger-Dyson Equation and is closely related to the Quantum Action Principle of Lowenstein and Lam. The validity of the Master Ward Identity makes possible a local construction of quantum gauge theories. Work supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

Transverse Ward - Takahashi Identity , Anomaly and Schwinger - Dyson Equation ∗

Based on the path integral formalism, we rederive and extend the transverse Ward-Takahashi identities (which were first derived by Yasushi Takahashi) for the vector and the axial vector currents and simultaneously discuss the possible anomaly for them. Subsequently, we propose a new scheme for writing down and solving the Schwinger-Dyson equation in which the the transverse Ward-Takahashi ident...

Continuum Strong QCD: Confinement and Dynamical Chiral Symmetry Breaking

Continuum strong QCD is the application of models and continuum quantum field theory to the study of phenomena in hadronic physics, which includes; e.g., the spectrum of QCD bound states and their interactions. Herein I provide a Dyson-Schwinger equation perspective, focusing on qualitative aspects of confinement and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in cold, sparse QCD, and also elucidating c...

Non–perturbative Anomalies in d=2 QFT

We present the first rigorous construction of the QFT Thirring model, for any value of the mass, in a functional integral approach, by proving that a set of Grassmann integrals converges, as the cutoffs are removed, to a set of Schwinger functions verifying the Osterwalder-Schrader axioms. The massless limit is investigated and it is shown that the Schwinger functions have different properties ...

On the Consistency of the Ladder Approximation and the Rainbow Approximation of Dyson-Schwinger Equation of QCD

We study the consistency of the ladder approximation and the rainbow approximation of the Dyson-Schwinger equation of QCD. By considering the non-Abelian property of QCD, we show that the QED-type Ward-Takahashi identity is not required for the rainbow-ladder approximation of QCD. It indicates that there does not exists any internal inconsistency in the usual rainbow-ladder approximation of QCD...

An Exact Solution of Gauged Thirring Model in Two Dimensions ∗

In two space-time dimensions, we write down the exact and closed Schwinger-Dyson equation for the gauged Thirring model which has been proposed recently by the author. The gauged Thirring model is a natural gauge-invariant extension of the Thirring model and reduces to the Schwinger model (in the Abelian case) in the strong four-fermion coupling limit. The exact SD equation is derived by making...
